Whole foods are not processed in any way. They are consumed in their natural state. Examples are fresh fruit, vegetables, raw nuts, grains, seeds etc. Preserving food introduces harmful chemicals to the food and depletes it's nutritional value. Whole foods are naturally low glycemic, high in fiber, and low calorie. They also contain large amounts of vitamins, minerals and micro-nutrients vital to your health.
